COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
XPA (Extra Pale Ale) is an American classic. A hoppy session ale . . . relatively light and low in alcohol but packed with flavor. Old World English malts are paired with new American hop varieties, resulting in a superbly drinkable yet complex brew, ideal for evenings out at the pub or when entertaining at home. This beer has it all – enough hops to satisfy the most serious hophead, but enough malt to achieve a perfect balance. This American Pale Ale is unfiltered and unpasteurized.

New brewery being carried by Premier Gourmet. Foaming head on light golden colour. Hoppy aroma. Smooth drinking and very drinkable pale, without lingering bitterness, a bit of flavour other than bitterness is nice. Good session ale.Decent carbonation and mouthfeel.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with ppoitras (thanks!). Poured a medium and cloudy orange color with an average sized white head. Aromas of citrus, caramel, some yeast and fruity. Tastes of citrus, some caramel, a little bready with a light spicey finish. Some lacing left on the glass. Would make a nice session beer if this was available locally.

Bottle. Pours a very hazy and bubbly golden-orange with an average size lasting fluffy white head. Nice aroma of fresh citrus hops, fruit and caramel malt -- simple but very pleasant. Flavour’s the same: citrus hops well balanced by caramel malt and a nice bitter finish -- so easy to drink, this is better then many IPAs. Medium bodied. Wow, this was a really good Pale Ale and a true session Ale -- I’d love to down several of these on a patio in the summer.

Hazy golden orange with a large head, good lacing and retention. Aroma is very fruity with grapefruit, pears, bread, light caramel and yeast notes. Flavor brings this, slightly watery finish despite a very enjoyable flavor profile. Light bitterness. Loved it other than the relatively weak body.

Draft @ redlight redlight. Grapefruit on the nose, with straw and grassy notes as well. Pours an orange gold with a white head. Citrusy hops upfront, with an earthy bitterness with a dry finish. Solid session pale ale.

muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - DEC 20, 2006
12 oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse in Winooski VT (December 2006) enjoyed (2 bottles in succession) from a Flying Fish pint glass. Hazy, unfiltered luminous gold with a lasting foamy-rocky white head and lots of lacing.....lots of pale and lightly caramelized malt in the nose along with sharp citrusy hop notes (mostly grapefruit), bit of pepper and some lightly funky yeast.....peppery, sharp body with an excellent balance of highly acidic hops attempting to cut through lovely slightly caramelized malts, hints of honey and maple....gets just a bit watery towards the finish but the superb sugar-bitterness balance saves it from disaster. Another fine product from High & Mighty/Paper City, I certainly look forward to more....

Braudog (4473) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - OCT 29, 2007
Bottle: A mellow yellow, lightly hazy color, with thin, fizzy head. The aroma is lightly buzzy, vaguely yeasty, and almost citrusy. The first swallow is oddly like a fruit punch, with a bit of an acidic sting coming in over the top. As I go, the fruit punch thing hangs on as the overriding perception, followed with a bit of a hop sting. Light for an APA, but fun to drink. (#3165, 10/29/2007)
