Commercial Description:
XPA (Extra Pale Ale) is an American classic. A hoppy session ale . . . relatively light and low in alcohol but packed with flavor. Old World English malts are paired with new American hop varieties, resulting in a superbly drinkable yet complex brew, ideal for evenings out at the pub or when entertaining at home. This beer has it all – enough hops to satisfy the most serious hophead, but enough malt to achieve a perfect balance. This American Pale Ale is unfiltered and unpasteurized. Alcohol is 5%.

Hazy pale yellow color. Coarse beige head. Inviting, fresh citrus to the nose. Notes of dry malt. Taste is dry fruity and dry malty with a fair amount of bittering hops. Light to medium body. Long hoppy finish. Nice, straightforward and moreish. (Bottle @ RBNAG’07)

[Bottle, thanks JK] Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Very weak aroma. Hoppy, but not too bitter actually. Finish is a little fruity.

12 oz bottle. Very, very pale golden. Aroma is quite earthy and spicy with orange marmalade notes over the top. Quite fresh-smelling. Flavour is lightly bready with a sweet spicy orangey hop flavour. Some softly floral character and a bit of minerally flavour throughout. Easy-drinking sessionable ale. Not a great deal of complexity, but it’s still pretty nice when you just need a pint.

Weak non-descript nose--maybe a hint of light fruits. Cloudy light orange color. Citrusy, orangy malt notes, with a light bitter end. Thinish. Something odd about this--different for sure. But overall it’s quite successful.

Nice hop aroma. Gold color, just a little cloudy. Flavor has sweet malt balanced by the hops. Not excessively well hopped, but very drinkable.
