COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
XPA (Extra Pale Ale) is an American classic. A hoppy session ale . . . relatively light and low in alcohol but packed with flavor. Old World English malts are paired with new American hop varieties, resulting in a superbly drinkable yet complex brew, ideal for evenings out at the pub or when entertaining at home. This beer has it all – enough hops to satisfy the most serious hophead, but enough malt to achieve a perfect balance. This American Pale Ale is unfiltered and unpasteurized.

Bottle (12oz). Cloudy pale orange with a large, lasting fluffy white head. Aroma is lemony, dry, with wheaty malt, and herbal/resin hops. Taste is like a lemon/tangerine bitter UK IPA - bitter herbal hops and some pine resin - medium-length bitter finish. Nice light, astringent and creamy body, the finish is a dminishing one, but the fruit, hops and dryness make this an excellent little session sipper.

Bottle. (RBNAG 07) A bit unclear, golden body with white head. Weak, but pleasant aroma with hops and some supporting sweetness. Nice, fruity, bitter flavor finishing piney, fruity and bitter. Medium to full body. A nice, hop-dominated session beer. I like it. (071103)

Pours copper-tinged amber into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Resing and grapefruit pith aromas. Crisp with sour citrus and dusty grapefruit pith.

Well I thought this stuff was pretty good. They had a rep from the brewery at Town & Country and he asked if I wanted a try. Well I said yes, bought a six-pack and got a free glass. Good deal... Anyway it has a light golden color and a malty/fruity smell. Taste is of malt and finishes with a bit of fruitiness. Overall it kind of reminds me of the BBC Steel Rail Ale which I also like a lot and nobody else does...

Thin white head. Hazy yellow body. Malty straw aroma with floral resiny notes. Light sweetness. Dry grainy malty resiny hop taste. Clean mouthfeel. Dry resiny papery aftertaste with straw notes. Nice session beer. (0.355l bottle at RBNAG’07.)
