Commercial Description:
XPA (Extra Pale Ale) is an American classic. A hoppy session ale . . . relatively light and low in alcohol but packed with flavor. Old World English malts are paired with new American hop varieties, resulting in a superbly drinkable yet complex brew, ideal for evenings out at the pub or when entertaining at home. This beer has it all – enough hops to satisfy the most serious hophead, but enough malt to achieve a perfect balance. This American Pale Ale is unfiltered and unpasteurized. Alcohol is 5%.

12oz no date. Pours a hazy straw golden with a moderate, fading creamy head. Aroma of bready malts and spicy floral hops. A little metallic as well. Fairly bitter thoughout, though not much else. Seems like they only used bittering hops. Slightly chalky lingering bitterness. No "perfect balance" here. Watery, soft carbonation. Not worth the $11.99 a sixer--quite a joke really.

12oz - yellow/orange under nice white head, malty nose, perfumy bite that finishes like a pilsner. Lame.

Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy golden, yellow. Nose is light with citrus and perhaps some hops. This was a very light brew. I thought this was more of a light Belgian pale ale than a XPA. Probably refreshing for a summertime beer, but thought there was just not enough of anything to make this work. Not an unpleasent, just sort of vacant.

Bottle 355ml
Appearance: Cloudy, peachy haze with small yeasty sediment. Medium light, fizzy, laced top. 3+
Nose : Sweet caramel with hoppy top , hint of clove and plastic.
Flavor/Palate : Soft bodied , on lighter side . Smooth almost oily. Fairly shallow in the midlle with leafy hop end with peachy like side hints. Not as clean but warmth of alcohol was pleasant. 11+/20

Catty lime citrus hop nose. Clear blonde body is topped by a low but lasting white head that leaves some patchy lace. Very herbal almost rootbeer like flavours with grainy malt character and citrus hops. Medium light body with moderate carbonation. Bottle sampled with Altair, beerbuzzmontreal, Cathschlag, Glouglouburp, Goldorak, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Yowie.
