COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Let’s say you up and decide to throw a wooden barrel of ale in a public display of manliness (I know, just go with it). How then to celebrate? Hint: You’re holding the answer. That’s right, a Dundee Stout. "Stout" is, after all, what brewers have been calling the darkest, heaviest and "burliest" of their ales since 18th century England. That said, ours is sweet, creamy and ironically, pretty light in texture. So maybe the tough part’s not lifting it after all. The tough part’s putting it down once you have. Go figure.

I’ll update this later. It’s a good stout. It’s dark and smooth. No off flavors. I’d drink it, but nothing to go wild over.

Bottle from pikapp327. Black pour with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, and a little chocolate. Taste is roasted, a little milky, nuts, and charcoal. Finishes strong charcoal.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2010 The aroma is a little rubbery with burnt malt, chocolate, burnt coffee, and a touch of earth. The appearance is dark brown with a large tan head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin for a stout. Overall this is not horrible but it’s darn close. It just seems like there are cheap ingredients in here. I am not a fan at all.

12 oz bottle pour received from my parents while passing through NH. Aroma of coffee, bitter chocolate, and caramel. A wall of dark, can’t see through it. Large brown fizzy head, that sadly erodes quickly leaving little to no lacing. Nice combo of the sweet and bitter. Starts with coffee notes that bitter the tongue, then the chocolate joins the party cutting the coffee bitter in transition to a nice sweet malt ball finish. As described, it is actually pretty light in body which was a weird contrast to the flavor. They say it is dark and drinkable, they are correct. Decent brew and at a good price point, well worth the money.

Aroma is sweet milk chocolate; malty like Whoppers. Not much bitterness, just a nutty finish. Mild but pleasant. The appearance is glassy brown with red highlights. Nice creamy ligth brown head. The flavor is malty and nutty. Mild chocolate, breakfast blend coffee and hazelnut. Very mild but pleasant. A deceptive burn at the end. Smooth and milky fee; a nice oily viscosity. I’d dare to say it’s a gateway stout. Mild but not lacking in flavor. Solid and utterly drinkable.

It pours very dark to nearly black with twinkling ruby highlights seeping through when held to a light. There is a quarter inch creamy tan head and lacing. The aroma is full of dark roasted chocolate and a hint of malts. Hops are not as evident in the aroma. The texture is of excellent heavier quality with an appealing creaminess for good measure. I liked the way it tasted as well with its balance of roasted sweet chocolate and smoky drop-ins. A stout that I could drink frequently.

Pours black with a thin, disapearing tan head. aroma is sweet and light consisting of chocolate and some subtle dark roasted malt. Tastes "right" but very simple with too thin of a body. More like stout flavored beer. There’s nothing WRONG with it but it doesn’t leave an impression. A nice attempt from High Falls and certainly better than some of the previous craft offerings.

12 oz. dark pour from bottle. If there was a catagory for "light stouts" this would fit the bill. Light, creamy mouthfeel with a slightly watered down coffee taste. As average as it gets.
