The Golden One is an inspired lemon pilsner. The combination of lemon and coriander makes this ale a crisp, refreshing choice.

On tap at Colorado Plus poured a clear yellow with a small lasting white head. Aromas of straw, lemongrass and coriander. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of lemongrass, bread and light coriander with a crisp dry lingering lemongrass finish.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with strong notes of coriander and lemongrass. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Really strange that they call this a pilsner, since in the same breath they reveal it’s an ale...with spices. It’s basically in the direction of a witbier, and unfortunately the spices totally dominate the nose. Sugary sweet and thin in the mouth. Not offensive but still a drain pour.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear yellow pour with white head, aroma brought grass, biscuit, some bready notes, hints of earth in there, slight spice. Taste is a mix of grass, biscuit, bread, hints of earth, grainy notes, slight sweet fruit, finishing fairly bitter, dry.

Tap at Colorado Plus - I’m having a hard time getting past the adjuncts here - lemon and coriander are strong in the nose - flavor is very sweet, with some notes of creamed corn, strong coriander - sweet and lightly spicy finish - I’m trying to enjoy it, but find it overly sweet and adjuncty.

Clear pale golden with smooth tones of peppery lemon and a light touch of campfire and pilsner malts. Light lemony flavor with a calming pale pilsner malt base. Pretty simple but pretty tasty.

Tap @ High Hops. Pours a clear, golden appearance with a white head. Fairly spicy, coriander, a bit peppery, lemon, aroma. Floral, potpourri, a bit husky malty, citrusy flavor with a somewhat dry finish. Solid, easy to drink beer that kind reminds me of a Belgian ale.
