4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 tinylion (2) - Corbridge, ENGLAND - JUL 20, 2006 does not count
A really decent pint - an easy drinking premium bitter - golden colour with good head retention. Great hoppy flavours with a hint of citrus but not too bitter. I merrily drank a few pints of this whilst sitting in beer garden. Recommend this to anyone looking for a traditional quality pint....

Cask conditioned at The Kent Beer Fest, Canterbury. Gold to amber with white head. This was a glorious bitter on the day, hoppy, bright, fruity / peachy with good hoppiness and a lasting citrus note, certainly the best bitter of the festival. Great stuff.

50cl bottle, pours a dep gold with a clingy white head. Aroma is hops, citrus, a little biscuit and a smidgin of honey, then a nice dry and fruity full body, with a faintly orange note and a dry-bitter finish.

GBBF. Orange coloured best bitter. Fairly standard best bitter. Nice beer served a little warm. Good fruit and dusty hops. A touch of sulphur - but that may be due to the warmth rather than a regular flavour characteristic.

Cloudy deep golden with tiny white head. Sweet fruity aroma with floral notes. Flavor likewise with a hoppy finish.

Cask handpull at the brewtap, somewhere in a field, near Matfen. Bright gold with a creamy white top. Muted celery hop sweatiness like Black Sheep aroma, nettley with Goldings. Caramel honey stillness, cherry, biscuit tiny hop bite. Dull and silky like Church (End).
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 2, 2004
A decent enough best bitter. Standard copper colour. A whiff of sulphur and a hint of mat in the aroma. Reasonably well balanced malt and hop character in the flavours. Dry finish. Nothing to set the pulse racing, but perfectly pleasant. Just like most of the British beers at GBBF in fact. Cask, GBBF 2004.
