Beer of the Gods is a refreshing German-style beer that could never happen in Germany – as easy to drink as the best Kölsch but as hoppy and satisfying as a supreme Altbier. And the best news? At only 4.5%, it won’t keep you from doing the important things in life. Sure, we know that those well-endowed beers will get all the press, but, just once, how about some props for the little guy?

Malts: German Pilsner and Wheat malts
Hops: German Perle, Tettnang, and Hersbrucker
Available in 22 ounce bottles and in kegs.

Bottle: This has been residing mysteriously in my fridge for some time now. I have no idea how it got there, but it’s time has come. Pours an opaque pale yellow in color with a white head. Aroma, light fruits, spices, bready notes, pale malts. Flavor, spicy, some fruits, definitely soapy, some grassy bitterness on the finish. Not good, I think I have to echo reakt on this, if this is the beer of your god, it’s time for a change.

Bottle @ St. Albans BF. Yellow with a fluffy white head. Citrus, hop, malt and wheat. Taste is much the same with grapefruit notes. Overcarbed and soapy with a watery bitter finish. I think I may have even overrated it. If this was the beer of my god, I’d change religions...

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2007 Pours a cloudy cake-yellow with a creamy, steamed milk like head that settles but doesn’t die out. Instantly I think Zinnebir, due to the fresh grass and golden cake notes, only this beer is hoppier, somewhat sweeter, and with a slightly less enchanting malt profile. Being unfiltered really helps with the mouthfeel, which is creamy. Something about it reminded me of a pilsener but it’s hard to describe. the important thing is that the beer is very very well made and interesting, but still what most would consider a session beer. If this beer were more readily available I think it would be extremely popular, which is astrange thing to say about a beer so well made. I plan on having many of these in my lifetime.

Fully hazy ochre-yellow beer with a small, but stable white head. USA hopsnose, imposing but not overwhelming, and a small spicy background. Fresh hops, and a taste of lightly baked quiche of cake bottom. Light, refreshing palate, not empty. Light, but nice - could be drinking this for a long time.
