Sampled this beauty at the Dix Christmas Beer Festival. When it was poured for me, there were large transparent bubbles on the top but no head. Aroma of coffee and some indistinguishable chemical. Tastes terrible! Something is definitely off in this one, perhaps the cask was not airtight. Tasted like wrung-out wet socks - bacterial and very off. I had them pour this one out.

Ashy aroma has some biscuity malt character and mild orange-citrus and floral hops. Clear, darkest mahogany brown body with ruby highlights is topped by a large bubbled, quickly and fully diminishing tan/brown head. Flavour is similar to the aroma but even more subdued. Light medium body with low carbonation is rather watery in texture. Cask not ready perhaps? Sampled at the Dix Winter Beer Festival 2006/2007.
