Very sharp nose on this local brew. Not nearly as hoppy as I like my IPA’s but still a damn fine brew. Great maltiness and drinks quite easy. Had this on tap.

Draft at the brewpub, 29 Dec 06: Don’t know if this is the same recipe as the one rated in 2002. Explosively big head that took forever to draw. Deep amber. Puckery like a sour orange at first. I was looking for orange seeds or a piece of orange rind. Head left nice lace tracings. Very citrus-rindy, relatively thin.

Oh my, this is a really poor IPA. My mother always told me if you have nothing good to say, say nothing. Nothing. GABF 2002

Light to medium amber-gold color. Rather slight head, no visible effervescence. Distinct hop aroma (as expected) but seems to be more of a British hop aroma, along with a tad of malt fruit. Very distinct buttery diacetyl and malt fruitiness, followed by the hops, which are not what I’ve come to expect in an American IPA. They are quite subdued, citrusy. Some tangy apple and pineapple in the finish. Finishes very ’wet’, also. Fairly light-bodied brew. A bit too smooth & malty for an IPA (not to mention mine had almost no carbonation), but quenching.
