The darkest of our flagship offerings and the richest of them all. Brewed with rolled oats, and black and roasted malts. This beer has a robust flavor with rich, creamy undertones of coffee and chocolate. Hopped with several English varieties (23 IBUs), lightly carbonated and served on nitrogen.

Very dark brown with a light brown foamy head. Very little lacing. Aroma is plums and dark fruit. Sweet malty stout aroma. Oh, pretty light bodied, hit of chocolate right off the bat, then bitter roasted flavor that is pretty flat. If the bitter chocolate could last longer this would be great. Starts off impressing, but fizzles out to average

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2011 Draft sample a the Taste of KS Festival. Looks like the beer is hit or miss and I got it on a hit day. Nice frothy appearance that reminded me of sweeter, chocolate milk in appearance and aroma. Slightly sweet flavor that finished with some coffee bitterness. Pretty nice to me. Second try at the restaurant confirms that this is their best beer IMO.

Sampler @ brewpub. Black enough that one cannot see through it except for a bit on the edges. Aroma is strong coffee and sticky sweet prune. Taste has some more of that watery sticky sweet prune. Its a nice stout, a bit watery and a bit too sweet at the end, but overall decent stuff.

4 oz sample at the brewpub. Pour is black, with a small tan head. Not much lacing. Aroma of coffee, toasty malt. Taste is chalky coffee some bright milk sour which jumped out quite a bit. Finish is long with oily coffee residue. Palate is slick and mouth coating.
