Blind Spot - Dark Specialty Ale: Blind Spot is ideal for the colder months, but perfectly enjoyable any time of the year. Fermented with a traditional English yeast. Wonderfully robust, full-bodied with a rich and warming finish. We have added a light dosing of dried ginger, cardamon, grain of paradise and star anise to the whirpool for some enjoyable spicing.

Bottle @ 2nd Tuesday Tasting. Pours a brownish, reddish beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma of coffee, licorice and cloves. Slight herbal. Flavor is medium sweet with touches of laurel and very faint touches of chocolate in the background. A bit unbalanced to the herbal side, but thatís the style I guess. Slight sour taste in the background. Quite a decent beer!

650ml bottle. Dark brown/black pour with large head. Aroma is earthy roast, cocoa, ginger, chili. Tastes malty with lots of liquorice, cardamom, blackberry, mint. Thick mouthfeel. Itís a bit unusual, so I can see why people might not like it, but it won me over sufficiently.

Pours dark mahogany color with a large off-white head. Aroma is spicy and malty, some fruity notes with caramel and wood. Flavor has caramel malts, lots of spices, orange, distant pumpkin notes, mild wooden notes and yeast. Medium carbonation, full-bodied. Mildly bitter malty palate with a spicy kick. Decent.

Sampled from bottle @ monthly De Molen tasting. Opaque pitch black color, small light brown head. Aroma has a lot of herbs or spices. Not my thing at all. Taste also has those herbs or spices, with sojasaus and other weird food. Iím pretty sure Dutchdrebus would taste Chinese food in this. Medium body and carbonation. Not my thing at all.

Bottle shared at the De Molen monthly tasting. Pours dark brown with a tiny ring tan head. Aroma is meaty. Meaty and gravy and herbs and vegetables. Mixed with soy. Itís like a roast chicken dinner, if a roast chicken dinner didnít smell good. With chips. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, moderate bitter, and moderate umami. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Weird.

Bottle at 2nd tuesday tasting @ De Molen, hosted by dEnk. Brown pour, thin off-white head. Aroma has anise, spices, gravy, soy sauce and slightly roasty. Flavor is sweetish, very spicy and with a hint of iodine. Quite strange and a little offensive.
