Blind Spot - Dark Specialty Ale: Blind Spot is ideal for the colder months, but perfectly enjoyable any time of the year. Fermented with a traditional English yeast. Wonderfully robust, full-bodied with a rich and warming finish. We have added a light dosing of dried ginger, cardamon, grain of paradise and star anise to the whirpool for some enjoyable spicing.

kermis (11262) - Where the wild whales are, NETHERLANDS - DEC 10, 2013
Bottle shared at the De Molen monthly tasting. Pours dark brown with a tiny ring tan head. Aroma is meaty. Meaty and gravy and herbs and vegetables. Mixed with soy. It’s like a roast chicken dinner, if a roast chicken dinner didn’t smell good. With chips. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, moderate bitter, and moderate umami. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Weird.

Bottle at 2nd tuesday tasting @ De Molen, hosted by dEnk. Brown pour, thin off-white head. Aroma has anise, spices, gravy, soy sauce and slightly roasty. Flavor is sweetish, very spicy and with a hint of iodine. Quite strange and a little offensive.

Almost opaque dark brown beer with a small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Fruity dark malt, thin. Plummy fruits with light cinnamon and cloves. Semi dry finish. Tasty if a bit light and dry.

Bottled, large sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma is slight fruity, lots of chocolate and coffee, biscuity malts. Not a lot of spicyness actually, which I was a bit afraid of. Lots of malty sweetness, biscuit, some bitterness. Good body, nice balance.

Tasted with the Nashville crew in late 2011 from a capped 650mL bomber bottle. Pours opaque dark mahogany with an average tan head that slowly recedes to thin lace. The nose is baking spices with milk chocolate and some herbal and roasted bitterness. The flavor is more malt-forward milk chocolate with all of the same baking spices, ginger, and anise, with a very pleasant bitterness. The body is full with light carbonation and a long spiced milk chocolate finish.

Bottle 1p 6fl.oz from erzbierschof.ch. Dark brown, tan head, creamy and during. Laces on the glass. Aromas of spices, strong and rich, roasted-chocolate, ginger, dark fruits and acidulity maybe from wheat. The taste is soft but strong, roasted malt, with caramel-licorice, choc and spices. Fruits and spices, we taste anise, cardamom, ginger, dry fruits. That makes Christmas beer-Porter. With yeast and notes of plum pudding.
