On tap at Bistro BA Fest poured a clear reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of cardomom, ginger, toffee, carmel, anise and light brandy. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of toffee, cardomom, ginger, oak, anise and light brandy with a crisp dry lingering spiced finish.

Sampled at the Bistro 7th Annual Barrel Aged Festival on 11/10/2012. Looking at other ratings I wonder if I got the wrong beer…This wild/sour ale pours a medium to dark amber color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with some wood and some brandy. A medium bodied wild/sour ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, with a touch of wood and brandy. The hops are herbal. Mild carbonation. Mildly spicy and slightly funky. I think some additional barrel time would help this one. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Draft. Dark mahogony beer with a dark cream head. Spice and light darker malt aroma. Spice and chocolate flavor with light fruits, light tartness, and light wine. Medium bodied. Light darker malts and light fruitiness linger with light tartness and light wine.

On tap at The Bistro BA Festival. Pours black with a thin beige head and a sour malt aroma. There is a sour dark malt flavor with lots of spice. An interesting brew.

On draft at Livermore Saloon. It pours dark brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is very similar to the regular Blind Spot with spicy anise, nutmeg, cinnamon and hints of fruity esters. No sour notes. The flavor is mildly tart with hints of citric acid and spices. Sounds weird, but it strikes a wonderful balance. Just a hint of vinegar. Very small notes of roasted malt and oak in the finish. Very nice. It grew on me with every sip.
