3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A tasty Belgian-like bitter crisp pale ale. Similar to Stone Cali-Belgique. A unique beer with a bitter bite. Not a strong aroma, poured (from a 22oz bottle) with a nice white to cream head. Good lace on the glass upon finishing.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Toad in the Hole. Hazy orange with medium foam and slight lacing. Sharp woody stems, ripe tropical fruits, light caramel, and black pepper in the nose. Balance of pleasant mild sweetness matched to firm, crisp citrus hop flavor is slightly upset by a sizable earthy phenolic component. Rolls pretty easily down the gullet but for the dirt factor. Others seem to enjoy this genre more than I -- see Cali-Begique.

Pale orange golden pour with a thick white head. The aroma is fruity and citrusy. Also a little bit of orange and some nice fruity kiwi and grapefruit character. Soft palate along with some moderate bitterness and a little bit of nice lingering fruitiness. Really lovely brew.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brownish orange with a small head. Some light lacing. The nose is full of fresh grapefruit and orange, some pine and floral notes, spice and malt. Flavor is more bright mixed citrus, pine, earthy spice, and mild bitterness. A medium body with smooth and soft carbonation. Finishes mostly dry with a light bitterness. An excellent and definitely nonstandard IPA.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A - Pours a hazy golden-orange with a finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some good lace.
S - Aroma is a mix of citrus, tropical, grassy, and lightly spicy hops with some good pineapple, grapefruit, and lemon. There is also some sweet caramel malts as well.
T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit, lemon, and pineapple hop flavor with some bitterness and some sweet caramel malt in the background. Through the middle, some lemon and spicy hops come through with some grassy flavor and more bitterness and a bit more sweet caramel malts. The finish is a mix of sweet caramel malt, citrus and tropical hop, some light spicy hop character, and some bitterness.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.
D - Very drinkable. Really nice hoppy American IPA. The hop profile is rally nice and complex and has just the right level of bitterness as well.
