A - Pours a hazy golden-orange with a finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some good lace. S - Aroma is a mix of citrus, tropical, grassy, and lightly spicy hops with some good pineapple, grapefruit, and lemon. There is also some sweet caramel malts as well. T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit, lemon, and pineapple hop flavor with some bitterness and some sweet caramel malt in the background. Through the middle, some lemon and spicy hops come through with some grassy flavor and more bitterness and a bit more sweet caramel malts. The finish is a mix of sweet caramel malt, citrus and tropical hop, some light spicy hop character, and some bitterness. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish. D - Very drinkable. Really nice hoppy American IPA. The hop profile is rally nice and complex and has just the right level of bitterness as well.

Very impressive...one of the most unique IPAs Iíve had from the standpoint of aroma. Light and bitter and refreshing like you want an IPA, but also hugely floraly aromatic....nose is sweet and bright and citrusy, more so than any other IPA Iíve had. Also, looks great, slightly orange and cloudy and with a lot of white lacing. A happy surprise!

On tap at Monkís Kettle, SF. Another killer West Coast IPA, one of those that gets lost in the shuffle, unfairly given its high quality. Wonderful pour, one of those bright, fluffy brews that makes you jacked up while your bartender is cranking it out. Massively floral nose, with bitters and fruits blending appetizingly. Some biscuit in there for balance and a dollop of spice, but the pine and fruit are just so fresh and unadorned that itís hard to argue with this fine rendition of the style.

Can I make sense of these notes? Gold orange, no head. Not much (canít read). Sweet like magic syrup, with citrus hop madness. Taste is the same, plus bonus pine magic. Drier than I thought. Fwoosh. Doesnít stick in my mouth.

Shared with Strykzone via Facebook Chat. This poured a hazy ice tea color with a fat off white head and a lot of lacing . The nose is very strong with pine and grapefruit. Medium in body and sort of an oily mouthfeel. The flavor is as potent as the aroma with caramel malts and a heap of hop flavors with some tropical fruit, pine, citrus, and flowers. Some bitterness in the finish my mostly a continuation of all the flavors. A really tasty beer and basically how I like my IPAs to behave. My kind of beer.
