Ale Alpharetta. Aroma is dried fruit, caramel malty, candy. Taste is that of an english style barley wine as I picked up on just a bit of citrus hops. Faded perhaps based on some older reviews. Taste is dried fruit, caramel, candy sugar, bready, some warm alcohol notes. Maybe picked up on a bit of oxidation.

Sample at Ale Alpharetta. Pours dark orange, with a small, beige head. The aroma is butterscotch, oak, butter toffee, vanilla, and some grapefruit. Very sweet, with a good bitterness coming forward in the finish. Heavy body, thick, and a little clingy. Overall, this is a nice, malt-bomb of a barley wine. The hops balance it nicely, but are not prominent in the nose or flavor.

Hazy deep red - amber beer, short cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and very slightly viscous. Mild fine carbonation keeps it lively. Smooth creamy malt, sweet cream here. Toffee cream as well. Light spice and dried fruits. Smooth finish. Rich.and tasty malt led beer.

Bottle 22 fl.oz from erzbierschof.ch. Superb red "sunset", thin ans fleeting beige head, living crackling. Alcoholish aromas, caramel-molasses, fruity, Brandy. The mouth is very sweet, licorish, unctuous and warm, rich of toffy-molasses. Malted sweetness with notes of peach and cooked fruits, pepper and a citrusy bitterness which cuts the final alcohol-caramel. Alas !

On tap at 10 East. Tons of brown sugar, toffee and caramel dominate the aroma. The flavor explodes with multiple layers of caramelized brown sugar, nougat, vanilla, and french toast. Not sure if this is barrel aged or not, but I swear I could get a hint of oak character. A winner from Steve.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen
Even if it rested for 3 months, it pours a cloudy amber-brown color, with small head; apparently viscous. Aroma of caramel, fudge, with a fruity vein; a bit nutty (that is more American than British). Strong body, round mouthfeel; caramel and toffee flavor, sweet but not syrupy; it has a medium expected bitterness, with some hop resins and some sweet oranges fruitiness.
Good but modest.

Bottle from Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours dark amber with a nice beige head and a nutty treacle aroma. There is a hearty dark molasses flavor with some oak and a pleasant alcohol trail. Seems better than the previous year version.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear copper with a creamy yellow/white head. Aroma is treacle with some brown sugar. Full bodied. Flavor is treacle, brown sugar and suggestions of something like date/fig. Heat is here, but it’s not out of hand. Finishing pretty much as it started. Heavy duty reading accompaniment. Very tasty. Seems to imitate wood in the finish.
