In the Spirit of legendary gold rush born on the mighty rivers of our Golden State of California, we off Rio d’Oro, or River of Gold. Brewed with Belgian pilsner and caramel malts, Styrian Golding hops and Belgian yeast from East Flanders, this tresure glitters with aromas of tropical fruits and dry effervescent finish. A shining nugget to add to your cache, Rio d’Oro is truly worth its weight in gold.

Big, fruity take on Duvel that doesn’t get the light, effervesent body right, but is still a decent tripel. Sweet and a moderate hop finish.

Bomber poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of straw, honey, pineapple and light yeast. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of straw, pear, honey, light spice and light earthiness with a smooth dry lingering straw finish.

Sampled on 2/12/2013. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent lacing and good retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet, yeasty and spicy. A medium bodied Belgian Golden Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, with some orange, pineapple and tropical. The hops are citrusy and spicy. Decent carbonation. Fruity and spicy. Lots of flavors going on here, fruity, estery, spicy and some yeasts. Hides the alcohol very well. Very easy drinking. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Pours slightly cloudy amber orange with a finger thick cream colored head. Full floral, spice and caramel nose and flavor with bready malt as well. A bit of the esters and citrus fruit shining through as well. Really complex and smooth drinking. Hides the ABV well.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours golden orange with a white head. The aroma is surprisingly weak. Spicy woody hops with some lemon orange citrus.  Flavor is herbal spruce pine hops. Estery yeast. Some orange spicy finish. A bit sweet. Bitter finish. Interesting beer that I would like to revisit.
