Cask conditioned at Stratford upon Avon Beer fest ’07. Dark amber colour with white head. Quite a harsh malty beer, sharp and chemical on the tongue and I don’t get the Whiskey coming through. Some butterscotch, caramel in the body, with a powdery feel. Quite unsubtle.

Cask at the Lass O’ Gowrie, Manchester 17/03/2008 Malt and whisky aromas. Amber coloured a little rich on the palate and fruity with some bitterness and dryness in a crisp whisky malt finish.

Cask, Griffin, Carlisle. Orangey-brown appearance. Has the tang you’d expect from a beer of this type. Malty, dry and sharpish on the throat. Lacking aroma and becomes cloying and overly sweet in the finish

Draft at The Ship in Whitstable High Street. I’m not a great fan of whisky/bourbon flavours in English ales, and this beer didn’t do anything to change my mind. Tasted thin and surprisingly alcoholic for the ABV, as though someone had slipped me something in my pint. Not good.

Cask. Pretty bad. Stale malt notes, kinda raw with not a lot of flavour profile. Surprisingly the alcohol shows even though its only 4.6%. Some peaty malt comes through i suppose. This is dull though.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A hazy amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of fruit, hops, and malt. The flavor is sweet fruity combined with light notes of whiskey and smoke. The body is thin.

From cask at Charlies. Pours clear and orange with a diminished white head. Slight spiced and floral aroma. Quite fruity and mellow flavour. Amazingly fresh. Nice fresh bitter finish. Slight citric to acidic flavour in the finish.

Cask at The Southwark Tavern. Light aromas of fruit and whisky malt? Red amber clor; white head that quickly dissipates. Starts with lightly sweet malt, and almost immediately balancing hop appears. A almost caramel note seems reminiscent of Fischer Adelscott. After a few sips I can imagine an alcohol hit. Overall it’s quite nice. Drinks well.
