2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, - JAN 23, 2006
Cask conditioned @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton. Some vanilla and fruity hops. Fairly dry but with a touch of crystal sweetness and a bitter finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 9, 2012
First tasted this in The Three Judges, Glasgow in September 2005. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Hint of fresh green apple in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit note laced with soft Highland fudge and sweet apples. Dusty hop resins impart a short bitter aftertaste. Finish is malty with sweet fruity undertones of gooseberry and lychees. A decent session bitter and well recommended.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Bullit (3285) - Burgos, SPAIN - JUN 13, 2009
Cask @ 3 Craws. Clear dark golden colour, small white head. Aroma has some fruits and wheat. Flavour has wheat, dry malts. Some fruits. Well drinkable.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 26, 2007
Cask at The Cat’s Back, Wandsworth, 12th Oct 2007. Clear amber with no head. Little aroma and a bland taste make this a poor quality ale.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 TheGrandMaster (2313) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 1, 2006
Pint pulled at The Railway in Putney (London), a clear golden amber with a thin head. A slight fruitiness in the aroma which interesting contrasts with the sweet caramal I pick up in the flavour. A little bit too dry though for my tastes.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 31, 2006
Cask (handpump) at the Willow Walk (JDW), Victoria. Attractive clear amber appearance with a small white head. There’s nothing to dislike about this beer, but not much to enthuse about wither. Not much aroma (cold as usual in a JDW). Dry malt is prevalent on the palate. Clean and easy drinking. The hops are not earthy English style, but I wouldn’t have spotted Cascade either. I can only conclude that more hops are needed.
