Bottle, 500ml. A good-sized diminishing head. A nice malty, somewhat nutty, fruity aroma. Dark brown appearance. A long-lasting sweet, fruity, bitter finish with hints of caramel and chocolate. A nice warming ale which I’ll be sure to buy again.

Bottled.Lovely inviting malty aroma upon opening that screams please drink me. This maltiness dominates although there are traces of chocolate.Quite complex with an aftertaste more subtle than you would expect.Winner of the TESCO winter beer challenge.Definitely a worthy winner.

Bottled. A rich brown coloured beer with a fruity full aroma with hints of caramel and good alcohol. The taste is fruity and rich. Some berries and some wood. Warming alcohol and quite tasty.

Dark coca-cola brown colour, big blocky tan head. Fruity malt and caramel aroma. Very complex palate of raisins, apples, molasses, sweet spice, chocolate, and a mineral/clay note too. Maybe I drank this too warm because the one detractor was the alcohol-- I found it poorly integrated and a little harsh. Otherwise a great beer.

Aroma seems a bit bl;and though the malt has most of the say with some spicy notes., sweet. Taste is noticably fuller with some small hints of dark fruits mixing with some raw malt characters nicely. Hops have a wee say at the end also. Plesent beer.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a rocky cream head. Aromas are smooth chocolate and winter fruit, molasses with some spices and a herbal character. Flavours begin with chocolate malts, spices, raisins and berries with some fruity sourness. Quite rich and malty with more herbal aspects. Nice warming alcohol on the finish. Good, but would like to see a bottle conditioned version.

Some spice and cloves on the nose. Deep ruby red notes in the predominantly dark brown body. Creamy but weak head. Flavour is a rich, nutty malt coupled with some dried fruit. Lingers well with a warmth on the back of the throat that is quite nice. Not a bad effort.

Dark brown, beige head. A welcoming sweet malty aroma was followed by a delightfully rich taste with raisins, citrus, and liquorice. Like eating a slice of Christmas cake. First beer I’ve had from this brewery. Good start.
