Bov (4559), Bienne, Switzerland Apr 25, 2008 clear reddish-brown colour with a beige and irregular foam; aroma of bread, malts, prunes and licorice; moderate sweetness and a good malt body; fair bitterness; long biscuity maltiness and notes of red fruits in the finish - deeply balanced; a nice one
TET (115), Finland Jul 5, 2008 Very dark-brown beer with velvet-like beige head. Aroma is complex: sweet, dried fruits and roasted malts. Flavour is similar than aroma and aftertaste is interesting "dry-sweetness". Nice and balanced beer to drink. Highgate Old Ember is interesting beer with nuancees many beer styles, but something is still missing to raise this beer into the top. austone (242), Pori, Finland Jun 1, 2008 Dark ruby brown, small fizzy head. Roasted malty nose, some herbal hops and fruits. Little banana even. Flavor is roasted malts, spices and fruits. Some liquorice and a little citric finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation. It’s got something going on. omhper (10000), Stockholm, Sweden May 26, 2008 Updated: Jun 13, 2008Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Dark nut brown, small creamy head. Appley aroma with faint toastiness. Sweet and fruity with mushy, un-firm mouthfeel. Some syrup and molasses, metallic finish. Poorly structured. Hildigöltur (5049), København Ø, Denmark Mar 11, 2008 Cask conditioned at Charlies.
