2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 9, 2012
Tasted this in The Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in November 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque tawny in colour with a thin white head. Thin sweet malt note in the short aroma. Watery mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts give a weak biscuit base with orange peel fruit notes evident. Dusty hop resins impart a thin resiny aftertaste which is short lived. Finish has a tart marmalade note to it. An ok session bitter, on a par with Nightmare - which sums this up.
