DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, - AUG 30, 2009
Bottle from Nuneaton Asda, suddenly a river of Highgate for some reason (am I seriously the only non-Finn to have rated this??). Clear chestnut with a disappointing swirl of froth. Signature boiled sweet caramel, liquorice and background leafy hop aroma. Sweet and maltose-sodden with pleasant hints of liquorice, bread and cherry. Boring.

500ml bottle. Pours very dark reddy brown with a medium head. Aroma is dark fruity malt with a bit of charcoal. Taste is a little watery, dark red fruits and malt.

Bottle. Darkish brown beer with a reddish tinge. The aroma is sweet, yeasty and toffee, and the flavour is very yeasty and roasted. Overall an average mild.

Bottle. Copper with a fluffy off-white head. Aromas are chocolate and nutty malts with blackberry and a light roast character. Flavours are light chocolate and weetabix malts with spritzy yeast and some soapiness. Some plummy notes. Quite slick and oily on the palate. Good.

A bottle 0.5L from K-Market. Pale beige head. Mild nose. Dark coppery colour. Taste of malts and toffee. Some hints of chocolate.

500 ml. Deep amber color, off-white head. Slightly hoppy, dark malt aroma. Lightly roasted flavor with some yeasty notes. Fairly watery: reminds me of some mediocre homebrews I’ve tried.

TBone (9433) - Pori, FINLAND - MAY 20, 2009
Bottled (Citymarket Sello, BB 10/2010). Clear amber color, small off-white head. Toffeish, a bit nutty and slightly sour aroma. Nutty hoppy and oaky, a bit sweet toffeish, foamy mouthfeel. Aftertaste is nutty too. Somewhat boring and probably not really mild ale.

Bottled (thanks TBone!). Rubyish amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel, some citrusfruits as well as some mild nutty notes. Flavour is caramel malts, quite rich on fruits (not too sweet though) and also some nutty and wooden notes. Pleasant and refreshing.
