COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Highland’s 15th Anniversary Auld Asheville Ale has been brewed to celebrate our tradition of brewing fine ales and lagers. This version of an English Old Ale has a bold profile from fine British malts, woodsy and estery aromas from traditional British ale yeast, and bittering from Styrian Bobek hops. The addition of Sterling hops provides a hint of spiciness on the nose. These flavors combined with a bright cheery redolence create a savory "Auld Ale" that will warm the dreariest of winter nights.

Bomber thanks NachlamSie! Pours hazy amber, very murky. Aroma has lots of wood, some dark fruit, sweet smoky malt and earthy hops, flavor is very much the same, just smoky and woody enough to avoid a too sweet finish. Really awesome stuff.

Pours that vintage ale brown color with a decent head. The nose is caramel and other sweet notes. Maybe a bit fruity. A nice flavor of wood aging dominates the palate here. This beer is great.

750 ml Bottle. Definetly from one of the AZ crew! Nice dark brown frothy pour. Rich deep favor coffee cherries and chocolate. A pallet that lingers! Very nice.

Pours a dark, murky, cherry-tinted brown color. Not much is discernable in the aroma, but the taste is a complex fruitiness. Rather than raisins and prunes, however, the flavor is almost berry-like with a fresh sweetness that is not overbearing or cloying. Smooth and quite drinkable, this one is an intriguing change-of-pace.

Poured red with a decent off-white head. Spice, honey and hops in the flavor and aroma. Fairly sweet with a nice kick of hops though. Didn’t like how it felt on the palate though.

Very fruity aroma. Dark amber in appearance with a one-finger tan head. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet, ripe fruit taste. Sweetness grows as you drink the beer. Very nice, worth getting if you get the chance.

Poured this bad boy into a snifter and got the distinct aroma of baked fruit and sweet malt. Light caramel head with a constant, simmering tube of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Fairly balanced taste of grapefruit hoppyness with yeast and malt flavors. Great flavor, spicy on the tongue with a bite to the end.
