Commercial Description:
Highland's most robust beer, having a very malty body with a large, roasted chocolate flavor. It is black in color with a very clean finish and a moderate hop flavor.

Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good stout here. This was nice and dark and roasty, and pretty much had all the right moves. Looking forward to hitting this place when we get up to Asheville.

Bomber! Thanks to OldStyleCubFan, the last of the many bottles this guy hooked me up with. Poured a dark brown color with tan head. Aroma of roasted malts/barley, coffee, and some chocolate. Mouthfeel is somewhat smooth but a bit on the watery side. Taste is roasty, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. It is good overall, one of the better regular stouts I’ve had. Thanks guy! and go Cubs!

Bottle at the porter bar. Roasted malt aroma with a little cocoa. Has a really nice bittersweet chocolate flavor and cocoa again with a nice slightly sweet finish. Smooth, creamy and well balanced. Very drinkable and complex enough to keep you interested for a while.

From a 12oz Bottle. Somewhat transparent, rusty black body with a thin layer of off-white head. Roasty aroma that’s highlighted by a whiff of fresh mint and light licorice. Prunes and medium roast coffee. Medium bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel with a relatively dry finish. Flavors of cocoa and roast up front, along with some mild prune fruits. Moderately dry, with a bit of an ashy flavor lingering in the finish. Solid, but not exceptional.

absolutely loved this beer, pours to a pitch black body, smells of chocolate, nice roasted, chocolate malty taste ot it, definite can taste the mocha in it too. While the malts are smooth, the taste lingers a bit in your throat, nothing overpowering though

This one has been sitting in my cellar for the better part of six months, and after drinking it, I have to ask myself why I waited so damn long to try it. This was part of merc4’s first package to me. Very malty with an awesome mix of coffee and roasted barley. Some chocolate notes as well. There is also a nice hop profile, which was odd for a coffee stout, but very welcomed. The coffee wasn’t as strong as in a Bells, but played a nice role overall. Low on the alcohol, which makes it very drinkable.
