Dogbrick (2813), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 10, 2008 Sample at the Most Honorable SuperHappyFun Stout Tasting. Thanks to Rogueone for sharing. This Stout pours black with hints of ruby around the edges. Medium foamy tan head that lasts awhile. Patches of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt, chocolate and touches of dark fruit in the nose. Medium, dry body with a lightly roasted/smoked character. Flavors of coffee beans, malt, caramel and hops. The finish is sweet malt and molasses at first, leading to a lightly bitter coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall. Swalden28 (1439), McKinney, Texas, USA Jun 3, 2008 Bottle, Thanks to Bu11zeye.
Poured a dark brown with tan head. Aroma of chocolate roast. Flavor is the same, nice dark chocolate roasted grains. Mouthfeel is smooth with medium carbonation. Overall, this is a very nice stout......I enjoyed it! SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA May 29, 2008 This poured black in color with a brown head that left a thin layer. The nose showed scents of milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla and slight spice. In the mouth it is medium-bodied with the flavors from the nose follwing through to the mouth. The palate is on the light side but supple with great balance. Albeit a simple beer it is enjoyable and very easy to drink. DerBiermeister (503), Birmingham, Alabama, USA May 25, 2008 This is a quality brew - clean with very little to no head, robust, rotund, and large. RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA May 24, 2008 Pretty good stout for those that prefer them on the lighter side. Very light coffee character. TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle. Pitch black. Tar colored. Small tan head. Very dense lacing around the glass. Nose is oily coffee, roasted malts and dark, bittersweet chocolate. Taste is also roasted dark malts, coffee and bittersweet dark chocolate. The coffee begins to dominate this after a while. Body is medium with soft carbonation. Sort of "fizzy’ but not like BMC fizzy. Ends bitter coffee, bittersweet chocolate, maybe even bakers chocolate and roasted malts. A bit "unoriginal" but well done nonetheless! CaptBier (301), Birmingham, Alabama, USA May 16, 2008 Bottle. Quite black. Big cheap coffee nose with light malts, no shortage of woody aroma hops and a good dose of chocolate. Roasty, toasty, nutty full rich complex coffee stout. Dense but straightforward flavors like Vietnamese coffee. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA May 10, 2008 bottle courtesy of jjpm74. deep black pour with a thin caramel colored head. thick roasted malts and chocolate on the nose. not as thick as i was expecting and the flavors are quite mellow in comparison to the strong scents.
