In bottle. Pours a very dark brown colour with a fair light tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark caramel, liquorice and alcohol. Similar flavours. Alcohol is well balanced with nice bitterness. Moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Well rounded.

Bottle received as an extra from RBald42. Thanks Ryan!
The beer is very dark brown with a light mocha head (I seem to be drinking a lot of beers that look like this lately). The aroma brings a big wave of coffee beans and roast. The beer is malty, with a moderate amount of roast and coffee in the flavor. The coffee aspect could be a bit fresher and/or higher quality, as fresh, strong coffee can be wonderful in a stout (obviously). The body is a bit thin, but as this is a pretty drinkable, easy going stout at <6%, I suppose that’s to be expected, at least to a certain degree. Overall, not a bad beer.

Returning back to Ratebeer! Rating my first beer in over a year. Can’t believe I haven’t rated this local brew yet! Dark brown, tan head. Notes of dark chocolate bar in the nose. More chocolate and coffee notes when sipping, mouthfeel is not as heavy as one would expect. A very easy drinking stout, which I respect. It seems the craft beer society is turning more and more to extreme flavor and bitterness profiles. What’s wrong with a flavorful easy drinker? Nothing says I.

APPEARANCE: Pours a dark brown with a rapidly disappearing tan head. AROMA: While slight, Chocolate, malt, and coffee notes came through. TASTE: Dark chocolate, roasted malt, and hints of strong black coffee. This beer is hoppier than I would perfef in a stout. I like them a little smoother MOUTHFEEL: Medium to medium-full. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The near perfect beer! Great chocolate aroma, nice black color with tan head, with a dark chocolate taste. Couldn’t be happier. This is what beer should be.
