COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Highland’s most robust beer, having a very malty body with a large, roasted chocolate flavor. It is black in color with a very clean finish and a moderate hop flavor.

Rcvd in trade. The appearance has a dark black body with an off-white colored one finger head and minimal lacing. The smell has some roasted sweet malt and light coffee. The taste is roasty and sweet through previously mentioned flavors, with a slightly woody, dry aftertaste and finish. On the palate, she sits about a medium, shows a nice sessionable quality to it and has some adequate carbonation. Overall, I would have this one again.

Bottle into shaker. Pours black as night with appropriate tan head, leaving sparse lacing behind. Dark roast coffee, chocolate malt, and oatmeal aroma. Heavy sweet, medium bitterness, lightly sour, lightly salty. Big body, thick chewy beer. Soft carbonation, sweet lingering finish. Nice after dinner sipper by the fire.

Bottle. Black color. Aroma of sweet chocolate and vanilla, with roasted matls. A good medium bodied (at least). Creamy texture. Taste is about the same with some additional roasted malts and cocoa malts. Some dryness and bitter at end. A solid beer.

12 ounce bottle pours a dark brown to black color with a tan head that doesn't last long. Caramel vanilla and chocolate aroma with some licorice smell as well. Medium body, nice chocolate coffee flavor very nice balance of the hops. Solid example of a stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
