Jun 5, 2009 All malt flavor. Chocolate roasted malts dominate everything else. Pretty full bodied, light carbonation. Well balanced flavor - starts out a little sweet then finishes just right. Not a lot of complexity though, just chocolate malts. Some metallic taste reduces the overall enjoyment of the beer.

May 29, 2009 Black pour with a small tan head. Chocolate and coffee in the nose. Dark roasted malt, peat smoke, and earthy hops in the flavor department. Rich and complex with a slightly bittersweet finish. Nice.

May 16, 2009 22 oz. bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop. Black pour with a very nice, thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is much of the same with a strong chocolate and coffee flavor. Lingering, pleasant finish. This is a very good stout and is a bit underrated in my opinion.

May 7, 2009 12 oz beer from Total Wine in Huntersville, NC. Pours a nice dark brown color with a slight tan head. Aroma is all roasted chocolate and malt, maybe a touch of coffee for names sake. Taste is matching the aroma, is a bit too roasted but finishes nice with a bit of burnt aftertaste. Not that bad. Good session beer.

Apr 18, 2009 Bottle with special thanks to alexsdad. Pours a dark brown with little head and aromas or roasted corn (can that be right) and chocolate. As it warms the chocolate comes out stronger. Flavor is a thin bitter chocolate with a bit of prunes. Not bad stuff, but fairly simple.

Apr 17, 2009 Pours a beautiful dark brown/black. Very roasted, chocolately aroma. Taste like chocolate powder and coffee. Wonderful creamy texture. I really like this one.

Apr 6, 2009 Pours deep brown with brown edges and tan head. The aroma is mildly roasty to mildly burnt to coffee with a sense of oxidation and earthiness. I also get a bit of vague sweetness in the background. The taste seems smooth and creamy to start bringing in some roast and nearly burnt malts. Into the finish a modest drying sensation picks up due to some roasty malt astringency.

Mar 22, 2009 Thin head of dark brown bubbles. Reduces pretty fast. Rich chocolaty aroma with some roasted malts and light coffee. Color is essentially black. Milk chocolate, more coffee, some prunes and sweet roasted malts. Finishes rich and malty. A decent stout but not really special in any way.
