Highland Black Mocha Stout

22 oz. from dchmela. Aroma is lots of chocolate, coffee and roasty malts. Color is a dark, with a reddish tint to it. Thick but smooth body. Very big coffee and malty flavors. Really like this.

Pours from the bottle very dark with very little head that doesn’t stick around long and leaves little lacing as it goes down. There is a slight ruby color to the darkness, but I may be just seeing things. Smells of chocolate, coffees, malts and all balanced very nicely. The chocolate and coffee/mocha flavors are the first things to hit just like the smell. They stay all of the way through but are joined by malts later which is nice. A bit of sweetness as things warm up and it feels nice in the mouth overall. Tastes exactly as it should and what it says on the bottle. I wouldn’t be able to drink alot of this in one sitting but I would actually recommend it to others as a good example of this style.

2008-10-14. Black body, nice creamy tan head. (4+) Mild aroma, roast malt, light coffee touches. (6+) Flavour is sweet overall, dry lightly roasty malt, light coffee notes. (7+) Smooth average palate. (3+) Decent, unassuming. Bottle shared by Jon Walker

Aroma of roasted malt and dark chocolate malts. Pours black with a thin ring. Dry and roasty with some bitter dark chocolate, followed by more roast. Intensely dry roasty mouth feel. Hop flavor is clean and crisp. Interesting and pretty damn good.

Courtesy of "BA" trader as extra. Pours black, brownish head. Aroma is fileld with roastiness. Taste, roasted coffee, strong aftertaste of moccha. Light hop bitterness in the finish. Interesting stout, plenty of roastiness.

Poured very black from 22 oz bomber, forming off brown foamy head. Aroma of coffee, deep dark roasted malts, chocolates and raw vanilla. Flavour much of the same, coffee and chocolates dominate with a nice hoppish end, decent stout, bitterness and sweetness balance out well.

22oz. bottle shared by cdumler and purchased at Sam’s Quik Shop. Pours a deep, dark brown with a medium, creamy head. Weak aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Taste is bitter roasted malts and coffee. Medium to full bodied.

12oz. Thanks to bitbucket! Black with thin head. Light stout with good roast, some ash and slightly sweet chocolate. Medium body and very smooth and clean. Enjoyable, but not mind blowing.
