2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a dark brown with ruby/burgundy notes under light. One finger tan to beige head with moderate retention, pretty solid lacing. Aroma is very Porterish, roasty, little alcohol, not much chocolate, some coffee notes.
More coffee on the palette, little more chocolate, now we get the Mocha. Medium body/mouth feel, reminiscent of a black Lager in texture, stronger roasted coffee in the long wet finish. Not as stout as I prefer a stout to be, seems more along the lines in general of a black lager with heavier coffee influence, but highly drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thick oily pour with a medium creamy tan head. Robust roasted malts accompanied by a medium toffee flavor. The aroma just isn’t there to match the flavors in this brew. Overall, enjoyable roasted stout.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
BOD 12/1/15. Pours black. Outstanding head volume and lacing, world class retention.
Light nose of roast and chocolate.
Light body that is water like. Slightly below standard carbonation level with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a lackluster finish.
The flavor profile is good. It lacks intensity (think stout lite...very lite) but is well balanced. The flavor is pretty much one dimensional and lacks complexity. It begins with a blend of light roast and chocolate. The middle adds a touch of hops but very little bitterness. The finish is a slow fade of the middle.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
At the brewery:
Chocolate and coffee on the nose and taste. A little more flavor than the porter but lower abv so mouthfeel is thinner. Not as much flavor or as complex. I prefer the porter.
