COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Highland’s most robust beer, having a very malty body with a large, roasted chocolate flavor. It is black in color with a very clean finish and a moderate hop flavor.

When I poured this stout, the smell of roasted coffee filled my nostrils, addiction swiftly stimulated my brain, and I found myself closing my eyes and imagining I was at Denny’s with my bottomless mug of wonderful lukewarm gritty watered-down goodness. This was a pretty good stout. My one critique is that I would have preferred a bit more chocolate flavor.

Bottle: Pours black with a short, creamy, dark tan head. Mild aroma, soft chocolate, coffee.....a tang of dark fruit. Taste is rich, roasty coffee, cream. Dry, a nice stout without a lot of sweetness.... Excellent.

smell is great...dark fruits...but not too much...a little sweeter...cannot see through glass....some sediment...taste isn’t as good as smell...a bit too bitter,....but not too much (lessens with quick drinking). Thick malty texture...quite roasted...good creamy finish

Deep chocolate-brown-black color with a creamy chocolate top. Thin, mononote roasty and dusted chocolate barley aroma. Medium-bodied and evincing similar, straightforward chocolate roasty qualities as in the aroma. Dry, dusty chocolate finish.

This one poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of coffee, light chocoalte and chlak. Flavor was dry, pretzely coffee and roast . Decent.

Bomber. Pours a dark black pour with a small head. Nose is sweet with a chocolate toffee fragrance. Taste is sweet, with a vanilla mocha taste and a big taste of malt. Finish is sweet as well with a moderate lmalt toffee mocha lingering. Quaff Score 7 / 10

DuckRabbit gets all the credit for good stouts in North Carolina, but this one is up there with the best of ’em. If you like a nice coffee presence in the flavor of your dark beers, this may be a fast favorite. I don’t drink dark beers much outside the wintertime, but this one is a favorite.
