jasonm (22), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 31, 2008 Dark brown in color that allows almost no light to penetrate. 1 finger width of tan head with light retention and moderate lacing. Aroma is sweet milk chocolate, roasted coffee and roasted grain bitterness. The flavor starts off with a fairly assertive grain bitterness that picks up the roasted coffee flavor over time. Bittersweet baking chocolate midway through that leads to a dry, powdery bitter finish. The body has a nice, smooth, feel with just a light touch of chewiness to it. Moderate carbonation. Another quality Highland brew that delivers good flavor in a < 6.0%abv package.

Pretty good, considering I don’t really like coffee at all. lithy (385), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 23, 2008 Pitch black pour with minimal ruby hints at the edges.
