Mild coffee aroma with a hint of cream within. Flavor is a smooth caramel with a roasted coffee finish. Just a little bit too dry, otherwise perfect.

Some stouts have too much coffee and some have too much chocolate. This has just the right dose of both (meaning slight and balanced instead of overwhelming). Beautiful lacing in a pint glass here at a fake Irish pub outside of Nashville. Not a nitro for smooth carbonation - that would have made it 100.

Aroma is cocoa and vanilla. Taste is milky creamy and rich. Cocoa chocolate and silky. Delicious beer. Deserves the high ratings it has. 12oz bottle at Cedrics at the Biltmore house

12 oz. bottle. It pours a very dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma has some very dark, dirty roasted malt with burnt black currants, cocoa and plums. The flavor is very roasted with burnt toast, dark fruits (raisin and prunes) and a very fruity, dirty, ashy finish. Very full bodied and rich for the ABV. Nice.

A solid yet drinkable stout, smoother than many others. Pours a thick black color with a light tan head. Heavily roasted and mocha coffee aromas, as to be expected. Flavor is dark malt, coffee bean, some mild bitter hops, and only a small bit of chocolate. Emphasis is on the coffee notes, which is what I expected but would have appreciated a more balanced complexity with the sweeter chocolate notes. Hops could be more assertive. Regardless, I think this is still a good reliable stout from a reliable brewery.
