COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A style of Pale Ale, Black Mountain Bitter will be lightly hopped with traditional British hop varieties to balance the malt sweetness yet encourage it to tend toward the dry side.

12 oz bitter. POurs a light copper golden with a thin head. Aroma is acetaldehyde- apple cider and green skins, toast, grass, and cereal malts- diacetyle as it warms, FLavor is a bit thin, grass, green appple, fruity esters, cereal malts, corn and cracker, more slick diacetyl. Thin and watery finish- damn this is weak all around.

Bottle from Cavie.
Pours a thin, yellow, and cloudy blur with an aroma of coppery perfume and hairspray. Flavor is full-out wheat with a light lemon bomb exploding in the background. Chalky on the tongue. Interesting.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2010 12 oz. Clear, burnt orange with a small but persistent creamy head above. Aromas of skunk, dry grain and orange-grapefruit. Flavor starts with plastic orange and cereal grain blend, finishes with some resin, grass, and woody bitterness blending with the other flavors. Nice lacing left behind. Light-medium body is smoothly carbonated, astringent after a bit, and lightly tongue-tingly.

maltdog (615) - Colorado, USA - MAR 31, 2010
Gold, clear as glass, a skim of large-bubbled foam. Grassy and post-coital stank. Sulfury lagery taste, chalk, sawdust, musk, rough earthy hops, wet dog. Medium-light body with a sandpapery texture. Dirty fruit finish, appleskin and paper aftertaste. An overall unwashed cunnilingus smell, flavor, and spicy afterburn is its only ambiguous asset... do I really want to know how the hell they managed that?

Bottle. Pours out an orange color without much of a head on it. Smell is somewhat hoppy, some sweetness, a little bit of malts. Eh.... Taste is light, watered down tasting, kind of sweet, no hops, and a dry finish. There really isnt much to say about this one. These guys have the potential to brew very good beer, but this one is just not doing it for me.

Pours clear pale gold with a thin white head. Not much on the nose, cardboard. Taste is muted hops and caramel. Very bland, thin, and simple.

Bottle pours a slightly hazed, pale golden body with a small white head that leaves just a trace of spotty lace. Aroma is faint, with hints of herbal hops and biscuity malt. Taste is dry and herbal, a bit grassy. Crackery pale malt offers little in the way of sweetness. Drinkable, but not very impressive.
