3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tallahassee, Fl - Momo’s Pizza - 12 oz bottle. Medium orange pour, light off-white head. Earthy aroma, hint of sweet caramel and ripening vegetables. Flavor has some ripening vegetable essence, some nutty notes, some caramel in the back end. Thick enough mouthfeel. Decent.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
10/4/13. On tap at Bleu Cafe. My first rating on the new Windows app! Mild aroma, light malts, a hint of toffee and fruitiness. Flavor follows, lightly sweet, toasty. Meh

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle into pint glass. Pours a clear golden amber with a small white head that leaves a little lacing that slides back down into the beer. Aroma is a bit faint. Slightly spicy aroma of toasted caramel malts, brown sugar, cinammon, and a hint of citrus. Taste is a bit subdued and watery. Caramel malts up front with a hint of lemony hops and wheat bread. Palate is a bit light with texture that is a little thin and watery. Average carbonation and a dry finish of wheat bread. Overall enjoyable, but a bit too thin and lacking a bit in flavor. Would drink again though, but I there would have to be a complete lack of other choices available.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Keg @ Sedona. Medium amber, small head. Flabby, sweet, bready nose. Some brown sugar and buts. Angel food cake. The taste is similarly bready, not particularly clean. Sweet finish. Medium body, light carbonation. Overall, could be reigned in a bit.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle for 2 bucks. Pours clear golden amber with a white head. Looks more like a lager than anything else. Smells a little malty, not much else. Taste is slightly crisp at first, almost grassy with a decent hoppy finish. Body is a little thin, not much carbonation either. Not particularly inspiring but I actually like this more than I thought I would. It’s at least better than Highland’s crappy IPAs.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a very clear golden hue with just a hint of amber. The little bit of head dissipated very quickly. Aroma is lacking with some subtle breadiness, grains and just a hint of sweetness. Flavor follows the nose and is bland. Thin bodied with a dry finish. There isn’t much going on here.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
I love Highland brewery, but was highly disappointed in this lager. A transparent golden appearance with little ’oktoberfest’ aroma. Not my favorite seasonal!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottles. One of the most boring beer styles out there and everybody and their brother feels like they need to brew one. It’s getting colder which already sucks and then you have to give us this shitty malty beer to make us feel better. This particular marzen aint bad by any means, it just happens to be the object for my rant on marzens. Sorry Highland.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle from Sam’s, Durham. Yet another marzen? Alas, yes for the most part. Pour fails to leave much of any impression at all, and the nose is malty and grainy. Prickly mouthfeel, and slightly more hops here than one often encounters in the style, which I guess is a plus. Still boring.
