COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Clawhammer Oktoberfest is a lightly colored, but toasty, rich and full bodied Marzen style lager, brewed with traditional German malt and the finest noble hops. A spicy hop finish and aroma balance out the abundance of malt flavor. Clawhammer means pure high-country enjoyment!

Bottle. Another great beer for Highland. Pours an dark orange-amber-copper color with a decent head and great lace.. Taste is more floral-hops then most marzen style beers. Aroma is a malty, spicy, floral with slight nuts. Good stuff.

Not as huge in the flavor dept, but very creamy and smooth. A solid highland offering, however not in my top tier of Ofests. I do always like to support NC breweries, though, so I’ll probably buy again.

Amber brown pour with a small white head. Aroma is of bisquit and toffee. Medium bodied, nice creamy mouthfeel. More bisquit/bread malt flavors with a bit of sweetness and a slighly cloying aftertaste. Pretty good. Nice body initially but it seems a bit thinner once warmed.

Found a bottle of this when we were in the OBX visiting. Consumed on 9/22/09. Reviewed from notes. Poured into my pint glass a crystal clear pale orange. Minimal bubbles rising through. 1 inch white head on top. Some retention, little lacing. Smell of earthy dull bitterness mixed some hints of caramel sweetness. The mouth is thin and lacking carbonation on the tongue. Mild flavor on this one. Some sweet caramel, slight bittering hops in the middle. Nothing noteworthy about this one at all. Pretty average, tame, and unoffensive.

Smells like a fest beer. Tastes like a fest beer. Finishes clean. Overall a decent fest beer.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear rich copper with a one finger off-white head. Average head retention and lacing. A really nice aroma. Biscuit and toasted malt along with a little bit of candy. Also some earthyness and grassy hops. Flavor takes off with biscuit malt and some candy sweetness. Toffee and caramel is there along with a little bit of coffee. A little bit of wet hay along with a light bitterness. Finish is a bit on the sticky side but clean overall. A decent Oktoberfest but not a whole lot that makes it stand out above the rest. I do like the extra bit of toast and biscuit in this one, though, and it is worth picking up.

bottle - bruisin ales - pours a clear yellow-orange with a thin head and some carbonation. Aroma is lemon, ginger, and pine. Taste is mildly bitter with the citrus notes coming through at the end. The palate is light and refreshing, finishes clean. Overall, a little light for a marzen, but delicious none the same.

Poured from the tap to a bright reddish orange with thin off white head and slight lacing throughout the glass. Aroma was a faint fruity (orange and apples) with a backdrop of spices and cookie dough. Mouthfeel was medium bodied nd slightly tingly, and the flavor brought out more of the doguh and spicy fruits. Finish slightly spicy and refreshing. Not bad.

Drank from a bottle. This beer has a light to medium body with a hop note but more a carmel flavor.
