COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Clawhammer Oktoberfest is a lightly colored, but toasty, rich and full bodied Marzen style lager, brewed with traditional German malt and the finest noble hops. A spicy hop finish and aroma balance out the abundance of malt flavor. Clawhammer means pure high-country enjoyment!

Bottle. Pours amber/bronze with a white head. Smells like a typical mrzen style beer. Taste is light for the style, kind of malty. Very nice brew.

Bright orange pour, white head. Some malt, grass aroma. Light malt, very light caramel, pretty standard. Slight hop presence, clean finishing. A little boring, but also typical of the style in my opinion. Not a bad one though at all from Highland, which is the best large micro in NC.

A little brighter looking than other o fest beers. This is just another super sweet oktoberfest lager with a bit of apple juice and a very slight hop bite at the end. Solid but not my thing.

On tap in a shaker at Bouchon in Asheville, this beer poured a coppery orange with a small head and a bit of lacing all the way down the glass. This is one of the nicer American Oktoberfests out there, with a very light (though not too thin) body, smooth lager-y texture, and just enough malt sweetness to give you a hint of flavor. The hops are ghostly - you would hardly know they are there - but that’s true to the style.

12oz bottle via trade. Pours a nice clear copper color with a one-finger white head that fades to a film before too long. The aroma is pretty nice, with sweet caramel, toast, and bready notes. The flavor is a little on the sweet side but still fairly well-done. Munich malt is big here, lending caramel and slight toasty notes. Medium-bodied and slightly sticky on the mouthfeel, though it finishes dry. On the softer side with carbonation. Pretty good American oktoberfest - above average for the style for sure.

Bottle. Standard bronze color, white headed Octoberfest with a biscuity nose. Flavor starts with caramel, then hits with a hop bite and a long, spicy finish.

Amber brown pour with a small white head. Aroma is of bisquit and toffee. Medium bodied, nice creamy mouthfeel. More bisquit/bread malt flavors with a bit of sweetness and a slighly cloying aftertaste. Pretty good. Nice body initially but it seems a bit thinner once warmed.
