1/26/14. Bomber bottled 11/13. Poured dark copper with a one finger head that disapated in about 15. Mild spicy nose with hints of malt and hop. Thin mouth with a nice spicy mix. A different spice profile than most winter ales. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear amber. Malt, clove, nutmeg, fruit on the nose. Sweetness and hops add to the overall winter spices and malt. Medium bodied and nice.

Draft at Trappeze Pub with Linh, Scarlett and Dad. Pours a light amber body with light lacing. Aroma is full of spice and sweet malt, and nothing else really. Mouthfeel is medium to light, somewhat dull with not a lot of flavor jumping out. Some muted hop character in the back, covered by lots of spice, malt, bread and toast

Even though I prefer the 2011 batch of CMWA, I still love this beer. Pours dark, translucent amber with light head and minimal lacing. Aromas of cinnamon, subtle nutmeg and honey. Slight hoppiness balanced by sweet notes of chocolate and vanilla. A great winter ale!

on draft. pours a dark red mahogany color with whitish head that leaves a decent lacing. the aroma of sweet malts chocolate and mild spice. the flavor is more of the same. the chocolate malt dominates this beer with the medium sweet malt base. actually pretty decent for a winter beer. when you mix the malts, chocolate and spices this way it does work.

Bottled 12/13. Pours a ruby amber with a nice head and lacing. Slight nose of sweet malt with a hint of spice and chocolate. Light medium bodied with a nice level of carbonation. Smooth, but not slick or creamy, mouthfeel. This is not a strong flavored ale. It has more of a subdued profile rather than a flavor bomb. Light spice, cinnamon/cardamom, over a light sweetness. Pleasant and not overpowering. Crisp finish that leaves a slight bitter and spice aftertaste that is also tart.

It looks to be about 20 SRM and has an awesome malty flavor of toasted oats and caramel with a lot of vanilla, and graham cracker...like a cheese cake crust. really light hop bitterness, probably 10-15 IBUs. Mouthfeel is rich and buttery. 2 finger head which retained well and left a nice lacing down the tulip glass I used. Finish wasn't dry at all and the vanilla came through strong at the finish. Aroma wasn't anything special, no hops, all malt. I am thinking they didn't use any hops in the last 5 minutes of the boil because it virtually had an all malt aroma. Pretty darn good beer, definitely a great session winter beer, abv is 5.8%. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
