COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our ever-changing spiced winter seasonal. A tasty brew that complements all your holiday festivities. It is typically malty in body, lightly hopped, and rounded out with spices that we vary from year to year.

Aromas of hazelnut, caramel, bread, dried berries, and vanilla. Clear ruby, off-white head, low retention. Lightly sweet, with flavors of cream soda, and some charred, earthy bitterness. Medium body, good carbonation, medium finish with bready malts and some hop bitterness.

Visually, Cold Mountain appears ordinary and very much like the Winter Warmers you have come to know and expect. Pour yields a healthy head (but then again most beers do if you know how to pour) which holds onto itself for most of the rise. Crystallized sugars lace the empty glass (which empties itself rather quickly). Taste is extraordinary. What makes it extraordinary is the undeniable and strangely welcomed flavor of marshmallow. This is new to me, and I find myself craving the next sip like a crackheads chomps for the next hit. The name too, so enticing. Cold Mountain. God damn. So sad that I canít get this in NY, but so glad my neighbor has given me a few each year over these past few passings. A real winner (he is too) here.

Thanks to Jon for this one! Amber pour, small bubbly white head. Nose and flavor bring definite sweetness to the fore, with marshmallow, vanilla, butterscotch, and graham cracker, but also a very nice drinkable light palate. Interesting and fairly unique, sort of like a Christmas cream ale, perhaps along the lines of some of the Anchor OSAs. Pretty all right!

For me, best winter beer around. Vanilla and other spices somehow makes me think of peanut butter (doesnít sound great for a beer but is)! No non RIS Iíd rather have a 6 pack of in the winter.

Thin foamy hear, with light lacing. Spicy aroma. Taste of caramel and vanilla. Sweet palate. Great local Asheville brew

2012 Vintage. Bomber. Thanks Secret Santa.

A - Poured a 3 finger fluffy white head that faded slowly leaving great lacing. sort of an amber ale looking beer.

S - I smells sugar and spices. Lots of nutmeg and a hint of maltiness

T - Taste is very sweet. Lots of brown sugar and nice essence of cloves and wintery Christmas spices. Finish is malty and bland.

M - light body and medium carb

O - This is a very drinkable beer. Itís a bit too sweet but solidly drinkable.

22 oz bottle. A little lighter than expected, good aftertaste but does not last. I would prefer more body and less carbonation.

Bottle. Appearance: very clear auburn brown with big foamy off-white head that lingers quite a while. Aroma: really very mild but hints of vanilla and some biscuit. Taste: the taste really stands out with vanilla, nuttiness, maybe cinnamon, a nice floral hoppiness, some biscuit and just a slight hop bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel: fairly thin bodied with medium carbonation. Overall: it's a beautiful looking beer but the aroma is so mild and the texture is a little thin for my liking. Ultimately, though, the taste is really quite delicious and the spicing is just right (for a guy who really isn't big on spicy Christmas type ales). Very drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
