3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle... Murky, deep, caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. Malty, earthy nose with a boatload of toffee and a trace of Marciano cherry. Aged or stale hop flavor with subtle vanilla and cinnamon. No intensity, but nice. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes minerally and slightly Flemish. Kudos to boboski for bringing this one down from Orlando!

1 liter bottle acquired in trade with merlin48 (thanks!). 2005 vintage. Poured a deep orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of spices (I was getting mint, wintergreen, and peppermint), pine, vanilla, and orange peel. The spices were present in the tastes too but on the lighter side with caramel, vanilla, and citrus.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing this one. Amber beer with a toasty aroma. Quite rich and caramelly. Toasted malts with a bit of spice over an unusual animal cracker/graham cracker sweetness. A bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. Good aroma, but the spices come across quite astringent on the palate.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Funky Buddha/Case and Keg tasting. Brown pour. Aroma is crisp and clean with some nice malty fruit notes, caramel and some faint hops. Flavor is pretty clean and crisp. Some good fruit notes come through and some nice spices as well. Pretty good effort from a solid brewery.

Another very pleasant brew from Highland. Pours mocha-looking body with some off-white head. This was aged somewhat. Malty, with some roasted malt, and sweetish spices. Tad above average mouthfeel. Drinkable. Not a high rating of outstanding, but enjoyable nevertheless.
