Visually, Cold Mountain appears ordinary and very much like the Winter Warmers you have come to know and expect. Pour yields a healthy head (but then again most beers do if you know how to pour) which holds onto itself for most of the rise. Crystallized sugars lace the empty glass (which empties itself rather quickly). Taste is extraordinary. What makes it extraordinary is the undeniable and strangely welcomed flavor of marshmallow. This is new to me, and I find myself craving the next sip like a crackheads chomps for the next hit. The name too, so enticing. Cold Mountain. God damn. So sad that I canít get this in NY, but so glad my neighbor has given me a few each year over these past few passings. A real winner (he is too) here.

Vanilla and caramel with a bit of spiciness. This is really more of a malt beverage at the end of the day. Not my cup of tea if Iím being honest and I actually didnít come close to finishing the bottle.

Bottle. Brown pour with tan head. Nice spice, chocolate, and Christmas like aromas. Similar spicy flavors, chocolate and roasted tones.

On tap at Joniís. So not worth the hype, , but decent. Pours copper/ brown with a soapy beige head with staying power. Taste mainly caramel and bready malts and vanilla with some winter spices in there. Not much hops or body to it. Too light for a winter ale. Erring on the sweet side. Sort of peculiar, really. Donít need any more.

Quite a bit of caramel, though light and crisp, and a soft amount of hops. Has a slight spiciness that is reminiscent of cola. All in all, a peculiar beer, but good.

"Had in Reno via the TN connection. Very nice mellow warmer, especially if u dig vanilla, the main player in aroma and flavor. A winter solstice in a different label. Chestnut color smooth medium feel, light on the hops. Thanks Lou."

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep amber/brownish with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of caramel and pale malts, some fruits and spices, vanilla, light bitterness, and some dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer, could be better, could be way worse.

Bottle. Poured clear dark copper color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good to excellent lacing. Toasted malt and spice aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy balanced spice flavor with a medium dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good seasonal beer.

22oz bottle, shared by Tmoney99 at his 10K tasting. Bottled 11/09/13. Mostly clear red orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves decent lace. Clear orange color, mostly. Thin off-white head, leaves good lace. Good, smooth, creamy carbonation. Lightly creamy texture. Bigger body. Good bready malt, lightly spicy. Moderate sweet taste. Very nice, smooth, easy-drinking winter ale. Not overly sweet like some of these can be. Nice graham cracker, vanilla aromas.

Bomber to taster (shared by Tmoney99). Looks good; a mostly transparent amberish orange with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells sweet and malty with notes of toffee and light spices. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
