Cask Last Post. Dark almost black appearance. Tight cream head lasts to the end. Distinct coffee and molasses in the nose. Mocha taste lasts and there is a slight edge as per brewers notes. Good,decent stuff and call me a Philistine but this is a stout in all but name and a damned good one.

Cask Real Ale at GB RAF 2012. Coffee and smoke in the nose. Pale head. Clear dark brown color. Soft mild slightly coffeyish taste. Mild hops. At the end hops bite. Slightly waterly.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Orange-reddish brown with a bubbly beige. Nose of smooth vanilla toffee, light coffee accents. Quite fruity flavor, distinct chocolate notes, a whiff of orange zest, roast, phenols. Smooth, creamy texture. Toffeish finish. Quite som hops as well. Very flavorful for the abv.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours brown with a warm orangey hue and a small off-white head. Rustic aroma, quite some yeast and overripe dark fruit and british hops. Medium body, sweet overripe dark fruit and some ashes and roast - ashtray actually. No real bitterness. As said: rustic. 040213

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small off white head. Aroma is roasted malty, breadish and caramelish. Toasted and caramelish to breadish. Bitter and dark roasted.

Pours chestnut brown to ruby red with little visible carbonation with a small off white head that soon dissipates. Aroma is slight chocolate, roasted malts, charred wood. Taste is watery chocolate dark malt, pecan nuts with a clean bitter finish

Bottle from Appellation Wines, Dalry. Pours a lovely dark ruby brown with small white head. Chocolate and mellow roast on the nose, some hop spice. Good, clean roast flavours on the palate, well-balanced, medium length finish, perfect carbonation. Overall - one of the best milds out there.

Nose is touch of dark malt, nutty tones.
Taste comprises toffee, dark malts, nutty tones.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish.

Cask@lychgatetavern, wolverhampton. Dark brown colour with medium head that gradually dissipated. Aroma of roasted malts. Taste is of roasted malts, coffee and a hint of chocolate. It is quite dry and burnt tasting in the finish. A good mild not the norm.

Cask at The White Horse Old Ale Festival, London. Pours dark brown with a fine, tan foam head. Burnt toast nose, some char. Light sweet flavor with mild earth, light baking cocoa. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light sweetness to finish with burnt toast and more earth. Good balance overall. Very OK. A pretty classic mild.
