3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, - AUG 24, 2008
A Mes rate: gravicask at GBBF. Dark red brown with a thin tan head. Rather creamy and full for a mild. Straight down the line coffee, slight chocolate, roasted malt and late bitterness. Very drinkable just a little subdued and one dimensional.

Cask at the Gallows Bird XV Real Ale Festival, Espoo, Finland.
Dark reddish brown colour with small off-white head.
Milk coffee, roasted malt and some sweetness in aroma. Mild milk coffee and roasted malt in dry flavour. Too much coffee in aroma for me.

Dark brown glints. Roasty aroma, a touch of apple. Slightly minerally retronasals. Good roasty malty body, some apple too. Decent malty roast in the finish, quite sweet. Reasonable balance. Pretty OK mild.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 AshtonMcCobb (937) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 19, 2011
My 500th beer, which is great as this is one of my favourite brewers!
On tap @ Teuchtars. Pours a beautiful opaque chestnut with a red hue around the bottom edges of the glass. The nose has chocolate and hazelnuts. The taste has more dark chocolate which softens into cream and then the hazelnuts follow it in. The palate is medium to large in structure, the texture is thick in creamy and it falls away nicely at the end. Overall, a wonderfully sessionable mild ale.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Benjii (2411) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 14, 2011
On cask at Teuchters. Pours a very dark ruby colour with a thin tan head. Lovely aroma of coffee, roasted malt and caramel. Flavour of coffee again with some caramel, roasty malt and toast. A little chewy with a dry finish. Nice.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 BeerCast_Rich (1202) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 17, 2011
[cask at SRAF’11] Clear dark ruby pour with a thin white head, really inviting colour. On the nose, weak roasted malt with a burnt caramel edge to it. On the tasting, the flavours aren’t quite as powerful, but still there. A good toasty malt backbone runs through the flavour, before the thin finish arrives. Very drinkable [16062011]
