UPDATED: MAY 18, 2013 12 oz bottle served in a snifter poured a dark hazy amber color with an small and short-lived tan head, but still leaves a fine coat of lacing on the glass. [3.5] Has a moderately good aroma of toasted malt and a trace of hops. T - Nicely balanced mix of caramel and other malts with a hint of toasted bread, but has a fine lasting hop finish. M - creamy with a medium carbonation level and medium+ body. O - solid for style. Targeted, i imagine, at newcomers to craft beer.

This beer is definitely better from a bottle than a glass...the aroma is somewhat funky (in a urinal sort of way). However it sure beats the hell out of Bud and we love this beer as an all-purpose-goes-with-Friday-night beverage.

Bottle. This is a good straightforward amber that goes down easy and pairs perfectly with bar food. what more could you want.

Metallic smell. Ruby red caramel color. Dry, light, mild hop body. Thin. And overly frothy. Too much carbonation.

Location: 12 oz bottle at Husk, 12/7/12

Aroma: The nose is fairly malty, with caramel, a little spice, and some earthy notes too
Appearance: It pours a clear bright red color with a small beige head and medium lace
Flavor: The flavor has a nice, not overpowering, sweetness and some balancing hop bitterness too
Palate: The body of this beer is medium, it is plenty drinkable, and has a clean, soft mouthfeel
Overall Impression:  This is some solid stuff for sure. Nothing to go out of your way for, but it is plenty drinkable, and a solid example of the style.

Bottle. Mostly clear amber pour with a moderate head. Mildly hoppy amber with a bit of nut. Not too bad.

Draft. Pours deep reddish with average off white head with decent retention. Aroma is caramel, spicy hops and some nuttiness. Taste is caramel upfront with a decent spicy hop kick. Pretty good amber brew.
