3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 MilkmanDan (1943) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - DEC 10, 2003
Deep copper-red. Nose woody, slighty malty. Some decent malts in the taste, lots of caramel. Hops assert at end, but provide just bitterness, no real fruitiness. The lack of fruit hurts this, if it had a good tartness at the end it'd be exceptional. As is, it's still good, but lacking the extra oomph to put it over the top.

Dark red appearence with a small white head. Has a small bit of hop flavor on the tip of my tounge with a load a malts settling in the middle and back.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Darkover (1449) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 9, 2003
Slighty cloudy amber color with a small beige head. Caramel malt aroma and flavor is nicely balanced by hops. Very drinkable. Thanks to dogbrick for the trade.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DEbeer (192) - West Virginia, USA - JUN 8, 2003
I am really not an amber fan, so I may not be doing this beer justice. It wasn't bad, but it did seem to have too much of a carmel-candy taste after a few drinks. The aroma was nice, however.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 boto (1581) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - MAY 4, 2003
Bottle version: Rich amber color, with a little head. Nice malty aroma, with a bit of hops in the background. Decent medium bodied malt flavor, with a nice finish of hop bitterness, although not overpoweringly so. Overall, a pretty decent brew. I could sit and drink alot of these!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dogbrick (4842) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 23, 2003
Acquired via trade. This was pretty good, deserving of this brewery's "flagship beer" status. Pours a deep amber color with a medium and foamy light tan head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Medium-bodied with an assertive malt flavor and a touch of hops. Finish is sweet but not overly so. Not bad at all.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 JoeM500 (1894) - Crown Point, Indiana, USA - MAR 22, 2003
Draft. Big and malty in nose and first sip. Starts caramelly and candylike, but fades to marshmellow and artificial-honey flavoring. Very unbalanced at the end.
