3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 konstifik (573) - SWEDEN - JUN 30, 2011
Pours copper with a smallish white head. Very malt-centric with lots of toffe, caramel and toast, but it doesn’t get too sweet. Still, hops are not providing much to the flavour except for a very light touch of citrus and spice, and a light bitterness.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Chipalsa (708) - Florida, USA - JUN 29, 2011
Poured a pretty deep orange, almost brown, with a thick creamy head. Smelled overall sweet, with light notes of yeast, pineapple ,and hops. While smooth and creamy, the subtle taste of hops were complemented by sweet citrus notes and a nice bitter dry finish. There were spicy undertones that gave it all a very nice balance. As was recommended by a fellow St. Bernardus lover, this beer was very satisfying!

Meh. Other people seem to like this, so I guess I don’t really like this type of beer as much. It practically seems metallic, although that must be the malt other people are commenting on. I got this because I was in south carolina and I wanted a localer beer. I should have just gotten an ipa or some other beach friendly beer. Anyways was good enough to drink a six pack of! Time to drink some wine to pretend to be classy.

Thanks to Lunch for sharing this beer. Served in a SAVOR snifter.
Pours a clear amber color with a small white head and a thin collar on the way down. THe nose carries an average amount of bready malt with a touch of caramel in there. The flavor has a light sweetness along with some bread crust and a bit of toast. Light caramel there and some very light hops. Light body with average carbonation; finish is slightly-dry and bitter. Decent enough, though nothing I’d go out of my way for.
