3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a fairly clear amber with a large fluffy white head that leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma of hazelnut, toasted almond, caramel and fresh dough. Taste is definitely malt forward. Getting a perfect blend of caramel malts, hazelnut, toasted almond, pear, and a slight hint of citrus. Crisp. Medium-light body, slick texture, lively carbonation, medium length finish that is very slightly bitter but filled with caramel malt and nuttiness. A great example of an amber ale done right!

Bottle into a glass. Pours a dark amber with a white head. Sweet malt aroma. Not a lot of hops in this one, which is nice. Like this one.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nice flagship beer anyone can enjoy from a solid. solid brewery.
It certainly isn’t the best of Highland’s beers, but I would never turn one down. Nice malty taste and well balanced. Mixes well with chicken dishes too.
Makes one hell of a beer batter.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rcvd in trade.
She pours a hazy yet somewhat clear amber and leaves the same colored body with a two finger head that rose a bit and died leaving some nice spotty spider web lacing in its wake.
The smell has some malts through bready/slightly caramel, subdued citrus/pine hops only coming through as the beer warms.
The taste is mainly balanced through previously mentioned flavors but adds some slight bitterness.
On the palate, she sits about a light to medium, comes across fairly sessionable, and leaves a crisp clean aftertaste and finish.
Overall, this is good for its style and good for me as I would have this again.
