Bottle at the NASCAR Hall of Fame during CAPOG conference. Amber color. Fruity aroma of grape skins. Pretty sweet tasting. Not that enjoyable.

Pours a dark amber with a nice head. Has a malty aroma that transcends into taste as well. Slightly sweet but not enough to overpower the hops! Nice beer to drink and will drink again!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark amber / reddish color. Nice hop profile, but a tad too sweet for me - not quite what I’d call a session beer. Toast, caramel, butterscotch.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
A tasty beer that looks appetizing and drinks easily. Had both draught and bottle. A good offering from a great North Carolina brewery.

Smelled great upon uncapping. Great taste, kind of flat though... Wished it had more bang. I’m a big heffe fan, but this could be one of my go-to’s for after yard work.

Purchased in North Alabama. Rich and sweet taste, but not very heavy, hops are mild (Cascade and Willamette).

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appearance: 2" off white head with moderate lacing. Color is amber and slightly cloudy with moderate carbonation
Aroma: very pleasant aroma with biscuit and caramel malts plus a noticeable hop spice
Mouthfeel: closer to medium than light body, finish is dry and refreshing.
Flavor: caramel, some citrus peel, whole wheat bread, a bit of raisin.
Overall: This is my favorite offering from Highland. Gaelic Ale to me is an outstanding beer. It is complex enough that it can taste quite malty or quite hoppy depending on what I am pairing it with. It is not too strong to be a session ale either.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Heavy on the roasted, carmel malt aroma. Taste translates, although not as unbalanced, with some bread, and hops coming thru. OK beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 1, 2013 Short frothy off-white head. Clear amber by sight. Slightly sweet light malty aroma with a touch o’ hops. Tastes much the same wherein the hops come through on the back of a sip and slight bitterness aftertaste. Malt over hops but both are there. A very tasty and easy drinking beer. Noticably better in a glass than out of the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle from Ingles in Brevard. Hoppy, syrupy masterpiece. Highland does not disappoint!
