COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A deep amber colored American ale, featuring a rich malty body. Cascade and Willamette hops add a complex hop flavor and aroma. This ale is exceptionally balanced between malty sweetness and delicate hop bitterness.

Pours clear and amber with off-white head. Aroma is sweet and light malts with some honey notes. Flavor also reflects the nose and is mostly sweet malt character with slight hop profile. A very good amber.

Pours a deep amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, and grains. Feels oily on the tongue with a front end bitterness and a hint of sweet malts. I really wanted to like this beer, but it just is off for me. The overpowering sweetness ruins this beer.

Pours an amber, with an interesting grapefruit hue. Sweet malts, syrup on the nose. Malty, bready taste with caramel and hints of brown sugar. An excellent amber ale.

On tap. Pours an amber color with white head. Caramel, malty aromas. Caramel, slight piney hop flavors. Not bad.

On tap at Finnegan’s during trivia night (can’t believe I couldn’t remember Good Times was a spinoff of Maude!). Dark mahogany pour. Aroma is malt heavy, butterscotch and coffee, with orange peel notes. Flavor has a surprising amount of roast, followed by caramel and orange peel/pine hops. Malty body, mild carbonation. Definitely on the maltier side, verging on a brown ale.

Nicely balanced beer from Asheville’s largest brewery. Excellent balance. Not an exciting beer, but a very good one.

Highland Gaelic Ale has a relatively thick, cream-colored head, a mostly clear, bubbly, copper appearance, and good lacing left behind. The aroma is of slightly citrusy, caramel malt and bread crust, and the flavor is of sweet, syrupy, caramel malt, and pleasantly bitter hops. Mouthfeel is medium, and Highland Gaelic Ale finishes semi-dry and highly quaffable. RJT

Pours amber in color with little lacing. It has the smell of caramel with a sweet smell. It has the taste of light caramel with maybe almond.

Out of a bottle. Great go to beer that is easy drinking and flavorful. It's hard to go wrong with any beer from highland.

Dark amber, clear pour with an epic head. One finger of fluffy off-white head in the glass and one finger over the top of the glass. Tons of head retention. Big malty nose. Ok taste. Huge malty caramel sweetness. It’s not totally out of hand, but it’s close.
