COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Released Sept 21, 2008 (the day after brewgrass). The next brew in our renowned imperial line, this hearty stout is rich with coffee and chocolate notes, all achieved solely through the use of special roasted barley grains. The complex malt character blends the velvety sweetness of specialty grains with the creaminess of a classic stout. No flavoring has been added to this product.

Tallahassee, Fl - at drowland’s 7/7/12 going away tasting party - thanks to Robert. Black as coal pour, thick khaki colored head. Aroma of kid’s cereal, some burnt roasted notes. Flavor has some chocolate notes, chicory coffee, some creosote. Hints of raisins and dates in the back end. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Aged somewhat and is leaning more towards a barley wine in my opinion.

2008 bottle pour, thanks to Josh for the pour! Dark black pour with thin tan head, aroma brought notes of chocolate, sweet fruity notes, hints of slightly acidic oak, nice roast, slight coffee but fairly subdued, slight oxidation and papery notes. Taste is a mix of sweet fruity notes, hints of caramel, chocolate, touch of coffee but really subdued. Some slight roasted notes as well.
