draught. Dark yellow clear no head. Ipa in bitterness only. No standout hop character grassy and malty aroma. Dull Grapefruit taste and bitterness. A little spicy finish. Slick and dead palate. Not sure why the bartender recommended this for her choice of NC ipa at mac’s

Highly disappointing. Wouldn’t even consider this an APA. I love IPAs and the awesome after-taste on the back of the tongue. This beer makes me yearn for a glass of ice cold water which I could use to rinse the rancid taste from my palate. Not a good beer, good riddance!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Originally reviewed: 4/11/09. Pours a darker gold with a decent white head on top. About a finger width in size. Retains fairly well, and leaves some spotty lacing. Nothing spectacular, but still pretty. From here on though, it’s downhill.
Smells of biscuits, malt, butter, and bread. Nothing that is characteristic of an American IPA. Mouthfeel is decent. Nice and crisp with a nice little pop on the tongue from the carbonation.
Flavor is of toasted biscuits, weird off-meat flavor, and some hints of sour lemon on the end. This tastes more like an APA in my mind. Nothing tells me this is an IPA. I’m gonna move on from this one, and avoid in the future.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at World of Beer (Tampa Palms). Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized head. Fairly good amount of lacing along the glass. Aroma and flavor are much more malty than hoppy. Not bad overall, but doesn’t feel like and IPA to me.

Creamy IPa pours a standard ipa color maybe a bit more dark orange. Taste is heavy and creamy but with a pleasant hop palate. Its okay

Smells like Heineken, really poor. No head or lacing to be found. Taste is watery with a little bite at the end. Zero
complexity. Mine might have been old or skunked but I just picked this sucker up, and I'm really disappointed. Had this a few months ago and it wasn't THIS bad, but I didn't like it before either.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle from burg326, thanks Adam! This one is a bit strange, because I get no hops anywhere from this, but I still like the flavor. I get malt in the background. I like this, but if I was in the mood for an IPA and some hops it would not have made me happy.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Decent. The aroma hides no hops. The smell of citrus hops is very upfront, which leaves the beer lacking a balanced aroma. The appearance is golden with a thick white head, but is somewhat hazy. The taste is one dimensionally floral and citrus hops. The mouthfeel is medium with a bitterness and tartness in the finish.

Had on tap.
Arrived a clear medium gold with a small head. Pretty good lacing.
About the only smell I could detect was citrusy hops notably orange and grapefruit.
Strong hop bitterness takes hold from the first sip with citrus hop flavors being predominate. there is some light bready grain towards the finish but hops take center stage.
Overall a middle of the road IPA. One I would have again but not necessarily seek out.
